After researching Tv’s for quite some time. I bought this one. The picture is outstanding and with the Toshiba name,
the quality is supurb ! You will like this one…

Regza line by Toshiba is defective and cannot be fixed for a reasonable price. This TV will cost 4 times its purchase price in repairs. Having purchased 2 of them recently and witnessing them both fail within 16 months I can safely conclude that this line is not worth the money. One TV was quoted $1600-1800 to repair(original $749.99) and the second was quoted $2,500-2,800(original price $949.99).

I had a similar experience as PS “PS” had. My 52″ Regza got thick black vertical band after 14 months and became useless. Repair cost quoted exceeded a new unit price. I personally will stay away from Toshiba TV. A local service technician told me it is a common problem with Toshiba LCD panel. It is a shame because I loved my Regza so much and I would have recommended it for everybody if it did not fail so soon.
By the way, GE extended warranty only paid small fraction of replacement cost. It did not help much.

Toshiba REGZA 55ZV65OU is a very good 55 inch LCD 1080P HDTV.It has clearscan 240. My wife told me to buy it, because my old Toshiba 44 inch HDTV was so bulky. This will be wall-mounted. The pictures are great, sound is good, and it’s easy to set up. The sharpness is good, even at an angle. My dogs brains’ can process the pictures at 1080P. The first week, they would bark at the intruders on the screen and look behind the set to see what was going on. Sometimes they sit on the couch with me to watch TV. I would buy it again. It came quickly, undamaged, with a minimum of fuss from Amazon. No taxes or shipping fees made it an even better deal.

After reading other reviews I thought I would get an incredible picture and it’s just O.K.. I’m only going to but a 55″tv once a decade so now I’ve got to live with this one. It’s good but not great.
